Viscose Closures have supplied a new Robino & Galandrino capsuler to the English Wines Group to apply champagne style capsules to their award winning Chapel Down sparkling wine. The Fenix 2 model is an automatic monobloc which dispenses, orientates, pre-pleats and smooths capsules at speeds of up to 3,000 capsules an hour. This versatile machine additionally has a separate system complete with two PVC shrink heads and two new generation spinning heads for tin/polylaminate capsules. This allows for easy transition to other applications.
As well as providing the capsuler Viscose Closures have also supplied a polylaminate capsule, for English Wines’ Chapel Down range of sparkling wines, which will be applied by the Fenix 2. The capsule is gravure-printed in gold with a customised red stripe featuring the Chapel Down logo in black. The top of the capsule is hot foil printed in black and embossed in gold. The capsule comes with a horizontal perforation and tear tab.
‘I have had previous experience of working with Robino & Galandrino machines,’ commented Wil Pretty, Engineering Manager at English Wines, ‘and I was certain that their capsuler would meet English Wines’ needs. The machine is now fully functional and we are happy with its operation and delighted with the look of the capsules, when applied’.
