Maelor Pharmaceuticals, whilst developing Optiflo (a trademark of Bard Ltd), one of their wide range of innovative products, devised the concept of a special bellows style container to allow delivery of a medicinal product at a controlled rate.
This left them with the problem of labelling the container due to compression during use.
This problem was overcome by leading shrink sleeve manufacturer Viscose Closures by the use of a printed preformed shrink sleeve which allowed the pack to compress and remain labelled.
The preform was printed in high quality gravure to incorporate usage instructions and corporate identity and was complemented by a plain tamper-evident sleeve.
"This packaging method has proven to be very popular with customers", said Neil White, Business Development Director.
